Spring cleansing the Ayurveda way…

Spring in Ayurveda perspective is a time of cleansing and renewal. It is” Kapha” season. Kapha’s significance is the immune system as well as the structure of the body. There are 5 deeper layers to kapha that can be out of balance causing colds, allergies, excess phlegm, decreased hydration and lubrication, as well as depression, fatigue, and stagnation of Chi “energy” throughout the body.

There are a few simples ways to start improving your health by decreasing toxins in the body, improving energy and vitality as well as loosing those excess pounds from the winter months.

  1. Get better quality sleep with a bed time routine of going to bed by 10pm and waking up by 6:00am. This is Kapha time of day.

  2. Cleansing your body and mind through organic fresh foods, juices, daily 20 -30 minute meditation, breathing techniques like “Breath of Fire” , as well as herbal supplements of Triphala and Guggul.

  3. Get active outside in nature! running, jogging, walking, biking or hiking in the morning hours between 6am - 10am.

  4. Abhyanga ( self body massage) with an infused essential oil of rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus or sage in a carrier oil of grape seed, almond, or sesame oil.

  5. Clearing out clutter in your house, car, workspace, and LIFE!
